Spring in Seattle – its a wonderful time. The real estate market is booming, flowers are blooming, and clients are moving into their new homes. As your home inspector, I want you to take advantage of this time of year to take care of some maintenance items around your home, because maintenance now saves money and time later on. What are some things to have on your to-do list?
First, consider all the little bits of light painting you can do on the exterior. Touch-up doesn’t take much time, and keeps things like wood rot and wood destroying insects away.
Also, be sure to clean your exterior with a hose or pressure washer. Also, be sure to cut tree branches and vegetation back from your home.
Also, not is the time to check your gutters and mak sure you keep your basement or crawlspace dry.
